Berta Álvarez Cáccamo

 

Berta Álvarez Cáccamo (b. 1963 in Vigo, Pontevedra) is a Galician painter linked to the Atlantic Group, a movement of Galician artists created in 1980 with the aim of reviving Galician visual arts. Her painting is abstract and conceptual, with large patches of tones and deafened ocher and black. There is a geometric structure in her compositions and vague formal references. She normally uses large canvases. Her work is on display in the Galician Center for Contemporary Art, the Museum of Pontevedra, and in private collections.
